Funder: Missouri Foundation for Health
Official Title: Gun Suicide Prevention Planning GrantThe Gun Suicide Prevention Planning Project is building a suicide prevention coalition in Southeast Missouri to focus on mental health and suicide.

The Gun Suicide Prevention Planning project aims to focus on mental health and suicide in the Bootheel region (Southeast) of Missouri. The plan involves building a suicide prevention coalition in the area which will offer trainings on lethal means reduction, implement a community-based continuity-of-care program, and initiate a public awareness campaign. By including all members of the community, such as gun owners, health care providers, schools, faith-based community members, individuals in the LGBTQIA community, and suicide attempt and loss survivors, among others, the project can work to create a community concerned with suicide prevention.
