Biography

Dr. Claire Wood joined MIMH in 2017. She received her Ph.D. in Human Development and Family Studies with a Doctoral Minor in Educational Research Methodology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Her research focuses on the application of advanced quantitative methodological and statistical approaches spanning across disciplinary boundaries, substantive areas, and research populations. Her work to date has concentrated on the behavioral and mental health of individuals, couples, and families with recent work focusing on topics related to substance use and on modeling variation in patterns of polysubstance use over time. Currently, Dr. Wood is serving as the Lead Evaluator for the SAMHSA funded State Targeted Response to the Opioid Crisis (Opioid STR) grant.
