Biography

Dr. Bolzenius joined Dr. David Tate’s lab in summer of 2015 to investigate cognitive and biological markers associated with mild traumatic brain injury. His primary area of interest focuses on sequelae that distinguish injuries sustained during military service (i.e. blast) from common mechanisms of civilian injury (e.g., car accident, fall, assault, etc.) with the eventual goal of informing and directing prompt and accurate clinical management of mild brain injury. Prior to joining Dr. Tate’s lab, Dr. Bolzenius completed his doctorate in Psychology with an emphasis in Behavioral Neuroscience at UMSL, and was involved with research pertaining to a variety of areas including healthy aging, HIV, and developmental psychology.
