Rebecca Preston

Rebecca Preston earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology from Hofstra University and completed her post-doctoral training at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. These experiences provided her with strong foundations in evidence-based assessment and treatment modalities and the neurobiological underpinnings of substance use disorders and comorbid problem behaviors and psychopathologies such as aggression and intermittent explosive disorder. Her research interests concentrate on stressors and impaired self-regulatory behaviors that both predate and maintain disorders of self-control and co-morbid psychiatric disorders. Rebecca joined MIMH in 2018 where her work focused on social determinants of health outcomes in vulnerable and underserved populations. As Clinical Lead for the Early Psychosis Care Center, Dr. Preston develops trainings and facilitates the implementation of evidence-based practices to prevent the onset of and provide treatment for early psychosis in individuals in Missouri.
