Mental Health First Aid

The Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Missouri team leads the statewide implementation of the program in partnership with Missouri’s Department of Mental Health, a founding partner of MHFA USA. The MIMH-based team facilitates Mental Health First Aid Courses, provides instructor training courses (train the trainer) and supports a network of statewide instructors through strategic initiatives.

Mental Health First Aid® is a skills-based training that teaches people how to identify, understand and respond to signs and symptoms of a mental health or substance use challenge. We provide 3 versions of this evidence-based curriculum:

Mental Health First Aid® for adults supporting adults 18+

Youth Mental Health First Aid® for adults supporting adolescents (ages 12-18)

teen Mental Health First Aid® for teens in grades 10-12, or ages 15-18 to support their peers.
