I am a person with lived experience & have been in recovery since moving to St. Louis in 2018. While living in Little Rock, AR I began working within my community to address and help with issues pertaining to opioid over doses. In got in contact with close friends on the west coast who had been working in the field of Harm Reduction for many years & they supplied me with a significant amount of Naloxone, Literature and supplies needed to combat this issue. Over a short period of time we saw positive results and lives were saved. Since moving to St. Louis I have spent my time doing a great deal of work on myself (with the help of places for people), staying true to my recovery and creating my own family. My partner and I have since gotten ourselves a beautiful little dog & we had our first child in 2023 who is the absolute love of our life. Having this job means more to me than I can put into words. One day my child will ask me what it is I do for a living and I’ll be able to explain to him that “we save lives & give people another chance that they rightfully deserve.” And that is something to truly be proud of.
