Deb Sprague and Team Receive Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Poster

Congratulations are due to MIMH’s Deb Sprague and the ADEPT project team, as their poster “Patient Perspectives on defining a Standard Drink’” was selected for the Vice-Chancellor’s Award at the University of Missouri Health System’s (UMHS) Innovation and Improvement Sharing Days event. The poster was selected as the winner in the category of Education Research. Co-authors are Dan Vinson, Bruce Horwitz, and Martha Lerch. The poster was selected by MU’s Vice Chancellor Dr. Williamson as the winner for the category of Education Research.

“Early in our SBIRT training it became clear that the majority of healthcare providers lacked knowledge about safe drinking limits and standard drink definition,” Sprague Noted. “In the spirit of partnering with our patients for better health, it seemed pertinent to learn more about what patients currently know about their drinking, and what information providers might offer to help them understand, as an early step in developing patients’ motivation to change.”https://mail.google.com/mail/u/3/images/cleardot.gif
