This webpage was created by MIMH's survey coordinating center for students, parents, teachers, and school administrators interested in the results of the 2002 and 2004 Missouri Student Surveys.

Students from schools across the state have participated in a survey designed to develop important information that will help combat such problems as alcohol and other drug use in our schools and communities.  The  study provides information on the effectiveness of current substance use prevention and intervention efforts and helps in planning future initiatives.

In 2002, the Missouri Student Survey was conducted by the Missouri Department of Mental Health, Division of Alcohol and Drug Abuse.  Students in randomly selected (i.e., selected by chance) Missouri middle/junior or high school grades in 140 statewide schools completed the 45 minute survey administered by teachers.

The 2004 Missouri Student Survey was a joint effort of the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and the Missouri Department of Mental Health.  In 2004, students in middle/junior and high school grades from all 524 schools districts in Missouri were asked to participate.  Details of both surveys are available in the links provided on this page.
