Technical and supervisory responsibility for the development and implementation of behavioral and developmental programs for 80 dual diagnosis adults and adolescents in a twenty-four hour inpatient setting. Responsible for the supervision and direction of 144 professional, para-professional, and service personnel on three shifts. Provide supervision for the development of a variety of specific psychological, behavioral, educational, vocational, and social programs to habilitate dual diagnosis adults and adolescents.
Development of an integrated continuity-of-care model for the units, providing for a range of services from a highly restrictive inpatient environment to a minimally restrictive transitional training environment, and leading to eventual placement in community based settings. Responsible for the budgetary process concerning staffing patterns and general operations. Liaison between the unit and Treatment Center support personnel, community agencies, parents, and other individuals.

Provided direct supervision to psychology staff for psychological evaluations, behavioral programs, and therapies on two 40 bed inpatient units for dual diagnosis individuals. Provided psychological and intellectual assessments for individual residents, and functioned within an interdisciplinary team providing consultation and support for a wide variety of professionals.

Intensive group work with drug and alcohol abusing individuals including leading a multiple-family therapy group. Supervision of clinical psychology graduate students. Work with clients and staff in a supportive after-care and drop-in center.
Consultation provided to: school personnel and students, half-way house treatment centers, state probation officers, correction officers, correction counselors, the Missouri Department of Mental Health, and various community organizations. The focus of these consultations has ranged from individual case management to agency development. Workshops given to various agencies have included: stress management, basic interviewing skills, communication skills, recognizing mental illness indicators, and behavioral management.
Evaluated the effects of client and family expectancies on the outcome of multiple-family therapy. Developed an attitude measure toward the community placement of psychiatric patients.
