The Program in Consumer Studies and Training
is part of the Mental Health Services Research Division of the Missouri
Institute of Mental Health. It is an outgrowth
of many years of commitment by the Institute to the development of a strong and informed
consumer and family voice in all aspects of mental health policy, research, and services.
Jean Campbell, Ph.D., a consumer researcher, is the Director.
The faculty at MIMH is convinced that mental health
consumers have a critical role to play in research and evaluation, and we
take great pride in our close working relationship with mental health
consumer researchers and mental health consumer and family groups. The
involvement of informed consumers in services research brings integrity to
the overall process. We intend to carve out expanding roles for consumers
and families in all of our work at MIMH through the development of the
Program in Consumer Studies and Training in the Mental Health Services
Research Division.
